Terms and Conditions – Luminance Autowerke

By placing an order with Luminance Autowerke, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the following Terms and Conditions:

1. Compliance and Vehicle Regulations

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, products supplied, modified, or installed by Luminance Autowerke are intended for off-road, show, exhibition, or motorsport use only and may not comply with Australian Design Rules (ADR), Department of Transport (DOT), or other applicable vehicle regulations.

The customer is solely responsible for ensuring that any product purchased, installed, or used complies with all applicable laws, regulations, roadworthiness requirements, and vehicle standards in their jurisdiction.

Luminance Autowerke accepts no responsibility for any fines, penalties, defect notices, roadworthy failures, registration issues, or enforcement actions arising from the installation or use of its products.

2. Product Testing and Installation

All headlights, taillights, and modified lighting assemblies are bench tested prior to dispatch. Photographs and/or video recordings may be retained as evidence that the product was functioning correctly before shipment.

Luminance Autowerke is not liable for damage, malfunction, or failure caused by:

  • Improper installation;

  • Failure to adequately waterproof components;

  • Modification of wiring or electrical systems by third parties;

  • Mishandling, impact damage, negligence, misuse, or abuse;

  • Electrical faults, short circuits, voltage spikes, or vehicle-related issues;

  • Failure to follow installation instructions.

Professional installation by a qualified automotive technician is strongly recommended.

3. Warranty Activation

Any warranty relating to modified products becomes effective only after:

  • The product has been correctly installed on the vehicle; and

  • The customer provides photographic and/or video evidence showing the product functioning correctly after installation.

Products that have been improperly installed, modified, tampered with, dismantled, repaired by a third party, or used contrary to instructions are excluded from warranty coverage.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Luminance Autowerke's liability is limited to the repair, replacement, or refund of the defective product, at our sole discretion.

4. Warranty Shipping and Removal Costs

Where a warranty claim is accepted, the customer is responsible for all costs associated with:

  • Removal of the product from the vehicle;

  • Reinstallation of the product;

  • Labour charges incurred by mechanics, electricians, or panel shops;

  • Shipping costs to Luminance Autowerke.

For Australian customers, Luminance Autowerke will cover return shipping costs for approved warranty repairs. International customers are responsible for all shipping costs unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Returns, Exchanges and Change of Mind

Due to the custom nature of modified lighting products, all sales are final.

Luminance Autowerke does not provide refunds or exchanges for:

  • Change of mind;

  • Incorrect purchases;

  • Customer ordering errors;

  • Delays caused by third-party shipping providers.

Products found to be defective may be repaired, replaced, or refunded in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.

Any defect claim must be supported by clear photographic and/or video evidence.

6. Custom Orders and Deposits

Once work has commenced on a custom, modified, retrofitted, or made-to-order product, all payments and deposits become non-refundable.

Where a customer cancels an order after work has commenced, Luminance Autowerke reserves the right to retain all monies paid to cover labour, materials, administrative costs, and parts purchased for the order.

7. Retrofit Warranty

Headlight retrofit services performed by Luminance Autowerke include a twelve (12) month warranty covering defects arising directly from workmanship and services performed by Luminance Autowerke.

This warranty:

  • Applies only to the original purchaser;

  • Is non-transferable;

  • Does not cover normal wear and tear;

  • Does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, improper installation, water ingress caused by third-party modifications, electrical faults within the vehicle, or unauthorised repairs.

After thirty (30) days from delivery, customers are responsible for shipping costs to Luminance Autowerke for warranty assessment and repair.

8. Manufacturer Defects

Certain components supplied by third-party manufacturers may occasionally be subject to manufacturing defects outside the control of Luminance Autowerke.

Where a genuine manufacturing defect is identified, Luminance Autowerke will work with the customer to provide an appropriate remedy, which may include repair, replacement, or manufacturer warranty support where available.

9. Vehicle Coding and Programming

Certain products may require vehicle coding, programming, calibration, or adaptation procedures for full functionality.

Any coding, programming, diagnostic work, dealership fees, specialist labour costs, or associated expenses are the sole responsibility of the customer unless expressly included in writing as part of the original invoice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Luminance Autowerke shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or economic loss, including loss of use, loss of profits, loss of vehicle value, towing expenses, accommodation costs, or substitute transportation costs arising from the purchase, installation, or use of any product or service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
